Ban Farrell is a Director of the Ziya Waste Solutions. She is an Environmentalist and an Entrepreneur. She has almost 30 years’ experience in business and enterprise development, project management and environmental management. Ban has substantial experience in strategic funding partnerships, international fund-raising, impact investing and a passion for sustainable development and renewable energy solutions. She is the CEO and Founder of Envirologica, a specialist environmental and business advisory practice established in South Africa in 2010.
Envirologica’s advisory team was involved in developing the energy management plan for the University of Pretoria (UP), as well as setting up the Environmental department for the Business Enterprises at UP. Ban has advised the Chief Economist at the City of Tshwane, as well as the Embassy of Iraq during COP17 in Durban. In 2015 she led a team of Financial, Business and IT specialist and collaborated with the Automotive Industry to research and develop a pioneering multi million Rand hybrid funding model in support of their skills development and artisan training requirements.
Ban is multilingual and has been involved in international business development and project management in seven countries. In her personal capacity she has lectured at the University of Pretoria and was invited as a guest speaker at the Graduate School of Business at University of Cape Town. She is an advisor to the investment committee board of nReach Sustainable Equity Fund in South Africa, and also advises various local and international companies and NGOs. Ban holds a Master of Science in Environmental Management from the University of Hertfordshire in the UK, as well as undergraduate degrees in Business and Project Management (UK).
